Fibroadenoma and Breast Cancer Development

If you already have a history of having a breast cancer in your family and you are middle aged then you should have any of these lumps thoroughly checked by a physician.

Is breast cancer curable? In most cases it can be cured when the disease is caught in time and the appropriate treatments are given. If treatment is delayed for too long though, then the cancer may spread and affect other parts of the body as well. This is called metastasizing, and if it happens then the odds of survival decrease. In severe cases of breast cancer a breast removal surgery called a mastectomy may be performed to ensure that all of the cancer cells are gone. Radiation treatments, chemotherapy, surgical treatments, and other options may all be part of the cancer treatment if you’re diagnosed with this condition.

Breast cancer does not mean a death sentence in most cases, and there are a number of different treatment options that you can choose from. In most cases having one or more fibroadenoma lumps in your breast is nothing to be worried about, but if you have a history of breast cancer and you are in your thirties or forties then these lumps should be evaluated by a doctor. If the diagnosis is cancer one possible treatment is radiation through a mammosite balloon. This treatment option usually works very effectively for fibroadenoma breast cancer, and the radiation is delivered right through the balloon for the intended time. This allows the oncologist to target the tissues which are radiated much better, resulting in less healthy tissue damage.
